The most common issue arises when operating in conditions where
only one row every two rows is cultivated.
This happens when, owing to the need to let the land rest and replenish,
it is necessary to let a previously used row rest in order to improve
its cultivation in future. Or when the same firm has vineyards that cultivated
in various ways, a part where the rows non cultivation is employed
and a part where operations are carried out on rows and between
rows. In these cases, one would need 2 different sets of equipment (a
cultivator and a tool-carrier) and pass through the same areas twice,
with a considerable increase in time spent operating and higher costs.
Moreover, this shifting system with tracks has the benefit of moving
the machine’s three operating elements independently (Spring cultivator
– right-hand inter-row tool and left-hand inter-row tool) and
lifting the lateral frames by about 20 cm off the ground.
The machine offers considerable flexibility of use, as it can also be used
to operate on the central row only or on a row and the (or both) interrow
areas next to it or to operate on inter-plant area only.
The system therefore offers 4 ways of operating in just one machine.
It can be used with either quick-release tractor couplings or it can be
operated with a control directly from the driver’s seat.
